ORTHEON: The new personalised biomechanical insole

Foot wellbeing is key to health and productivity at work. Ergonomic insoles and personalised solutions help prevent pain and fatigue, while improving posture, balance and comfort throughout the day's activities.

In collaboration with PlantarWEB, COFRA has developed a new Made-in-Italy solution dedicated to worker wellbeing and the prevention of common foot disorders. That’s how ORTHEON was born: a personalised biomechanical insole, designed to bring together digital innovation, advanced ergonomics and certified safety.

ORTHEON insoles and their advantages

This class 1 medical devices combines high-precision digital technology, certified orthopaedic expertise and quality-controlled manufacturing processes to deliver effective, comfortable and durable solutions.
ORTHEON insoles provide optimal foot support and promote postural balance, offering workers tangible benefits, including:

  • Maximum comfort on the job, thanks to ergonomically designed, breathable and resilient materials
  • Reduced pain in the feet, knees and spine, through even weight distribution and calibrated biomechanical support
  • Posture correction and maintenance: body alignment starts from the feet, reducing musculoskeletal stress and the risk of fatigue or injury
  • Optimisation of physical conditions and work performance, through improved stability, balance and endurance during daily activities

Personalised insoles

ORTHEON insoles are referred to as personalised because they are custom-made to suit each worker's individual anatomical characteristics, and any differences between a person’s right and left feet are taken into account to offer targeted and highly effective support. This degree of personalisation goes beyond standard insoles and provides preventative and therapeutic benefits.

The procedure for obtaining ORTHEON personalised biomechanical insoles is straightforward: first, the worker must obtain an authorisation from the company doctor. Next, an operator appointed by the COFRA retailer takes photographs of the feet with a smartphone, according to a guided procedure, and completes a detailed medical history questionnaire. All the data collected is then sent to PLANTARWEB, where a specialised orthopaedic technician, supported by artificial intelligence, analyses the morphology of the right and left feet and draws up a detailed report, identifying the most appropriate insoles for the individual worker.

Once the order has been confirmed, the insoles are delivered with a Declaration of Conformity in compliance with CE certification requirements as per EU Regulation 2017/745 (MDR - Medical Device Regulation). As a result, safety footwear will retain its CE certification according to European Regulation 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This guarantees that ORTHEON insoles meet all essential health and safety requirements and can be used in full safety in the workplace.

Thanks to this combination of digital technology, orthopaedic expertise and regulatory compliance, ORTHEON insoles offer a comprehensive, certified solution. They improve foot health, prevent foot problems and optimise workers' wellbeing and efficiency.
